Planning your digital marketing strategy

Social media is simple right? It's not. It's a complex system that requires a lot of planning. Not only does it require a lot of planning, but it also requires a lot of research. In the next few articles, I'll give you a few simple guides to help plan your digital marketing strategy.

It's all in the game

This step is essential because it allows you to define your initial objectives Come back to it every few months, and don't be afraid to make changes.

Remember that if you aren't hitting your goals, change the plan, not the goals.

And especially remember why you are doing this.

  1. Define your metrics What will you measure? What are the metrics you want to avoid?
  2. Define your raison d'être Introduce yourself, explain why you are doing what you are doing, and what you hope to achieve.
  3. What's in it for you What are the benefits of taking on your project?
  4. Why are you doing this What are the reasons you are doing this? This is different from "what's in it for you." Try to
  5. What do you need What tools do you need to build and reach your audience?
  6. What value do you bring What will your audience gain from your project?
  7. What is your end-game? What will your audience want to do with your project, and what will they want to do after they've finished consuming your content?

Retrospectives

Once you have your template in place, you can start to think about how you can improve your metrics. Each month, you can think about what you can improve, and what you can do to improve them. What do you need to change? What went well? What were your biggest disappointments? Start small and make changes. Don't be afraid to experiment.
